+3 stat boost power jumpsuit
It's not just an outfit. There's nothing else like wearing a powerful outfit to get you back on track in life.

The possibility of failure is scary to most, but to entrepreneurs, the failure of not even trying is worse.
Power jumpsuits
There’s something about jumpsuits that I love. Perhaps it’s because I don’t need to piece together other clothes. Perhaps it’s an outfit in one. But for some reason, I just feel more put together when wearing a jumpsuit; it makes me feel strong and empowered. I bought one for myself the other day after leaving Young Money Plans, an online financial literacy platform that my friend and I had built up together. It felt like a divorce, and I walked around with a cloud over my head.
We didn’t agree on equity split, as well as a few other role responsibilities, and I ultimately left because I knew it wouldn’t be the right fit in the end. I made the hard decision to leave, and looking back, I made the mature decision of giving it up, but also taking what is hard and doing what it better for me long term.
My friend in Singapore checked up on me, and I told him..I bought a power jumpsuit. For the first time in a long time, I was shopping for clothes and as I tried on this jumpsuit, I looked and felt good. This was the outfit catapulting me back into my regular tenacious energy. He joked with me about power jumpsuits. He thinks he’s hilarious, but he’s right—it does give me a +3 stat boost when I wear it!

Working at a digital media company
has made me realize how much important and powerful content can be. I’ve been working on a contributors’ program and part of my job is helping writers amplify their voices through content. They can talk about their experiences, their insights, basically anything that relates to technology and Asia. Things I’ve seen that really work are the stories on personal experiences because those things cannot be replicated; you can have 10 people talk about being a CEO and some of the stories will be the same, but if you get them to talk about their beginning roadblocks or personal struggles along the way, those are stories people want to hear and are captivated by. Because they’re real, human, and unrepeatable.
Would you rather be a better speaker or writer?
I asked my friend this question when we were having dinner. She said she’d rather be a better writer, since writing skills help you naturally create the flow of words that you would speak out loud. Her argument was that being a good speaker would just happen if you could write well because you’re already speaking in your mind when you are typing out these words. Food for thought as the syndication of content becomes more widespread and the way we deliver our own content has varying levels of weight.
Valuable advice
We were interviewing a few venture capitalists for a debunks series, and one of the questions we asked (which I had sourced on Reddit) was: would you invest in a C idea with an A+ team, or a A+ idea with a C team?
And the answer consistently was that they’d invest in the A+ team because it would be the qualities and traits of the people that would propel the company forward with momentum. That really stuck with me, because human capital is something that cannot be replicated, taught, or found so easily. To me, I realized that everything that has happened, everything that has allowed me to get so far, was that people recognized my value and gave me the opportunities because they were willing to bet on me. I recognized that, and I hold that in my heart and move forward.
